Clinton County Juvenile Court Services

Truancy Supervision

Truancy Supervision is a short term program, generally lasting 60 days. Youth must be court ordered to participate in this program. Truancy Supervision gives youth who have exhibited poor school attendance the opportunity to correct his/her attendance and receive no further sanctions.

During the 60 day period of supervision, youth are required to bring his/her attendance to the Compliance Officer every other week. If the youth attends school every day and accrues no unexcused absences, the case is closed as successful at the conclusion of the 60 day supervision period. If the youth fails to attend school every day and/or accrues unexcused absences, the youth returns to court to face additional sanctions.
